THE driver of a 4WD vehicle may hold a vital clue in solving the disappearance of missing Keilor teenager Raymond Allen.
The 17year old moved from Keilor to Mooroopna near Shepparton in northeast Victoria in March to live with his father and grandmother.
On Anzac Day, Raymond told his grandmother he was going to meet a friend at a BILO supermarket nearby but has not been seen since.
Missing Persons Unit DetSgt Tony Thatcher told Star a 4WD vehicle was involved in late April or early May in extricating a white 198384 Toyota HiAce van from a bog.
The van was bogged up to its axle, DetSgt Thatcher said.
Police believe the van may have played an “integral part” in Raymond’s disappearance.
“We want to identify the driver of that 4WD and hopefully establish a potential burial site or otherwise in relation to Raymond Allen,” DetSgt Thatcher said.
