AN IMPROVED batting effort from Sunshine against Werribee wasn’t enough to register its first win in the Under 15 R.M. Hatch West Group match last week.
Batting second, Sunshine required 175 from its 45 overs but fell 40 runs short.
Youngsters Dylan Thomson (49) and Jackson Marr (38) made some valuable contributions with the bat.
In its final match of the tournament, Sunshine was bowled out for 123 by Melton.
In reply, Melton lost only four wickets to finish runner up for the tournament.
