GREEN Gully will resume its Victorian Premier League title defence on 5 February against Oakleigh Cannons at home.
The Cavaliers, fresh from the 2-0 grand final win over Heidelberg United this season, will be joined by Richmond and Kingston in the league next year.
The new fixture, due out this week, features a Friday 3 February start and has some distinct differences to this year’s arrangement. There will be a break after round four as the Football Federation Victoria (FFV) state team travels to China for a series of matches, before the highly anticipated grand final replay in round five on 12 March.
The competition will also take a two-week break in June during the World Cup in Germany.
Green Gully enjoyed a brilliant season, winning the minor premiership with another consistent home and away performance. The Cavaliers have already been busy in the off season in a bid to build the squad, with Stephen Camilleri joining the list from Sunshine Georgies and Bulleen’s Ryan Ollerton also committing to the green and white.
