Grounds back in play

THE State Government is giving up to $5 million to rebuild and restore school play areas and car parks affected by Building the Education Revolution (BER) construction works at Victorian government schools.
Announcing the new funding at Footscray North Primary School last week, Premier Ted Baillieu and Education Minister Martin Dixon said the government would reinstate playgrounds, hard courts and car parks removed or demolished as part of BER projects.
“We have listened to schools and the community and we are taking the necessary steps to reinstate these facilities,” Mr Baillieu said.
