KEILOR Park is off and running in Essendon District Football League’s A Grade after accounting for bottom placed East Keilor on Saturday.
The Devils were at their best in the second half in the 31-point victory, jumping into a cluster of five teams with one win after three rounds.
Cain Mansbridge (four goals) and Scott Kempster (three) were match-winners for Keilor Park, while Alex Isailovic and Steve McAnulty were gallant in defeat for the Cougars.
East Keilor valiantly stayed within four points at half time, but Keilor Park kicked eight goals to four in the second half to win comfortably.
Keilor also had the legs to run the game out on the weekend, eclipsing Aberfeldie by 44 points. Jamie Cuffe kicked six majors for the winners and was one of the best afield, along with midfielder Ricky Marcy, who chipped in with three.
Keilor led by two points at the main break before stringing together seven successive goals to ice the contest at three-quarter time.
In other games, Strathmore defeated Avondale Heights by 24 points, Doutta Stars narrowly took care of Oak Park by the same margin and Greenvale thrashed Craigieburn by 47 points.
