BRIMBANK City councillor Kathryn Eriksson’s claims of a council investigation into alleged political activities at Sydenham Soccer Club have been labelled baseless and a ‘silly little thing’.
“Who the hell are we asking for an investigation of this club, who their members are?” Cr Costas Socratous demanded at Tuesday night’s ordinary council meeting.
“We are not going to investigate, I want to put it on the record … to dissolve this council before you do any more damage.”
Cr Socratous later told Star: “Nobody knows of an investigation, that is (Cr Eriksson’s) own silly little thing.”
Questioning of several other councillors and the CEO, also produced no knowledge of any investigation of the club.
“The CEO neither ordered, nor conducted an investigation into any activities allegedly carried out at Keilor Lodge Reserve,” a spokesperson for CEO Nick Foa said.
“The view expressed by Cr Eriksson is her own personal opinion and not attributable to or speaking on behalf of the organisation.”
