THE people of Brimbank will have the chance to extend a big thankyou to the bushfire heroes whose deeds warmed the hearts of Australians.
The Sunshine Lions club has teamed up with local Rotary groups to organise a family fun day for the CFA, ambulance and police who fought in last month’s devastating inferno.
More than 4,000 people are expected to attend the free event, which will include carnival rides, food and performances.
The organising committee sent out invitations to emergency services organisations last week and is calling on the community to dig deep to help.
Lions Club president Les Tarczon said businesses in the West would have the opportunity to show their gratitude to the unsung heroes who had given Victoria so much.
