A COMMUNITY plan endorsed by Brimbank City Council last week will provide a 20-year strategic vision and approach to local area planning for the council.
The plan comprises 15 strategic directions under the themes of community well being, sustainable environments, urban design and infrastructure, and council and community working together.
Mayor Troy Atanasovski said the development of the Brimbank Community Plan was a milestone for the community.
“I am especially pleased that the plan integrates the ideas and aspirations of our community,” Cr Atanasovski said.
“All through the process, starting from February 2008, community engagement has been integral to the development of the plan, and the council has received many valuable thoughts and feedback from the community.
“The Brimbank Community Plan is the culmination of that feedback and comment, and accurately reflects what our community wants.”
A summary document of the plan will be delivered to all Brimbank households, and full copies of the plan will be circulated to organisations identified as partners.
A copy of the plan will soon be available to view on www.brimbank.vic.gov.au.
