Recycling

THE amount of recycling done in Brimbank falls below the state average.
A Victorian Government study has listed every Victorian council area in order of their landfill diversion rate in 2007/08 – measured by the tonnes of recyclables and green organics collected divided by the total tonnes of waste collected. The waste includes recyclables and green organics.
Brimbank’s diversion rate is 35 per cent, compared with the state average of 42 per cent.
Nillumbik Shire Council tops the list at 64 per cent.
