FOOTSCRAY SES has received a welcome boost in funding.
The group is among more than 190 volunteer units across Victoria to receive a share of $11.6 million in funding as part of the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program.
Liberal MP Bernie Finn said the funding would help emergency services and life saving clubs be better equipped to protect lives and property.
“I’ve often said we just wouldn’t be able to get by without our emergency service volunteers,” Mr Finn said.
“Every day they make a contribution that truly makes them community heroes.
“This is a great example of the way the community, government and emergency services agencies can work together to ensure that we are best placed to respond to emergencies.”
