BRAYBROOK’S Skinner Reserve is set to get a facelift thanks to a $650,000 State Government grant.
Sports and Recreation Minister Hugh Delahunty announced the funding last week, which will go towards redeveloping the reserve’s pavilion.
The pavilion redevelopment is part of Stage One of works and includes an extension of the community centre, player and umpires’ change rooms, accessible toilets, and a new multipurpose social space for up to 150 people, featuring a kitchen, and kiosk facilities.
The funding is part of the State Government’s Community Facility Funding Program.
“Local sporting clubs are the heart of communities as they provide an important place for people to get together to share their love of sport and get more active more often,” Mr Delahunty said.
“Once complete, the new pavilion will provide a much needed space featuring modern amenities more appropriate for the growing numbers of men, women and juniors wanting to participate as players, fans, or volunteers.”
Maribyrnong City Council has put $1,932,700 towards the project.
