FOUR Werribee scientists were recognised last week for their contribution to agriculture in Victoria.
Department of Primary Industries (DPI) scientists Tim Johnston, Frank Dunshea, Simone Rochfort and Josephine Stokes were noted by Agriculture Minister Bob Cameron during the state’s Science Week celebrations for their key contributions to the local economy.
“DPI Research gives Victorian primary industries a competitive edge by helping them produce more with less and by protecting market access through increased biosecurity measures,” Mr Cameron said.
He said it was important to promote the talents of local scientists and encourage younger people to pursue careers in science.
