THE reign of Western Region Football League (WRFL) Chief Executive Damien Phillips is over after he accepted an offer to join West Adelaide in the South Australian Football League.
Phillips will end his third year in the position as WRFL CEO after this year’s finals before taking up the same role at his new club.
Phillips has overseen an important period for the WRFL, which culminated in the league’s 75-year anniversary celebrations this year. He left with the blessing of the league and with no regrets.
“I have really enjoyed my time in the WRFL and I have met some great people,” Phillips said. “The league is in good shape and has a long-term plan that will see it continue to grow.”
A decision on the new CEO position has yet to be made.
