HOPPERS Crossing boxer Jonny Walker will take an immediate break from the sport after failing to win the Asia Pacific WBF Super Middleweight Title at the Malvern Town Hall on Friday night.
Fellow Melbourne boxer Sean Connell was delcared the winner by a technical knockout in the 10th round.
Trainer Dave Hegarty said Mr Walker was devastated by the loss. “He’s a shattered man. It will take him a long time to recover,” he said.
A professional boxer for two years, former Williamstown resident Mr Walker has had an impressive amateur boxer career with 16 wins from 21 fights and won two state championships.
