MORE than 250 young environment warriors from across Australia will meet this week at locations around Port Phillip, including Melbourne Water’s western treatment plant, to discuss and learn about the issues of Australia’s coast and waterways.
As part of the inaugural 2006 International Youth Coastal Conference, the primary and secondary school students identified their own concerns to study.
They include the effects of introduced weeds on the health of waterways, monitoring pollutants in fresh- water fish, and marketing recycled water.
