SENIOR coach Chris Gilham announced at Werribee Centrals presentation night on Friday that he would not be continuing as coach in 2007.
The crowd of more than 250 heard how Gilham wanted to continue his coaching career at a higher level, but Centrals would always remain a part of his life with his brother, girlfriend and family still involved with the club.
The evening was the culmination of a great year for the club with three league best and fairest and five premierships spread over football and netball.
The award winners in the seniors were best and fairest Jason Fastuca, runner-up Matt Shannon, most consistent Brendan Chugg, most determined Mick Kennedy, coach’s award Roland Beck and best team player Adam Bills.
The reserves best and fairest winner was Brad Ward, runner-up Sean Lark, most consistent Nick Gilham, most determined Mick Cunningham, most improved John Ulkowski, best team player Dave Dorling, coach’s award Rick Alagona and player of the finals Adrian Brunato.
Dorling and Brunato, who both played in the reserves’ premiership side, announced their retirement from senior football and will be sadly missed on the ground in 2007.
