EIGHT of the Western Jets’ brightest young prospects are in with a chance of representing Victoria at the national under 16 championships this year.
The group is part of the initial Victoria Metro squad of 50, which will begin training for the championships, to be held in Queensland from 22-29 July.
In the next few months the squad will be whittled down to 25 players, who will go up against the best players in the country.
The Metro team will be coached by Football Victoria director of coaching Anton Grbac.
Selected Western Jets players are Mitchell Banner, Stuart Clark, Darren Haby, Jacob Koroneos, Luke McCormack Daniel McKerracher, Nathan Schroder and Jack Sims.
