Losses all round for Werribee

A 32-POINT haul from Luke Egan failed to help Werribee across the line for its first win of the Victorian Championship season, the team losing a nail-biter away clash with Ringwood last weekend.
Egan was joined by Michael Petridis (30 points) in the battle of the cellar-dwellars, but Werribee was unable to get in front of the Hawks, who lead at every change to clinch a 106-102 win.
Altona is in a commanding position at the top of the ladder in the men’s first division after a 103-94 win over Coburg at the Altona Sports Centre.
Nathan Marsh was the stand-out player with 34 points.
In the women’s competition, Werribee remains on the bottom of the Championship table and remains without a win after four matches.
Dionne Fenton (23 points) was the only highlight in the team’s 102-61 defeat at the hands of Warrnambool.
Altona suffered a strong defeat to LaTrobe City, going down 88-38.
