THE Committee for Werribee believes the proposed Victorian Science and Technology Discovery Centre would be a good fit at the Werribee Technology Precinct.
Executive director of the committee Vince Keogh, who heads an advocacy group of Wyndham businessmen, said the Werribee Technology Precinct needs “a boost.”
“We have been lobbying the State Government to provide funding to do so.
“But wherever the science centre is located in Wyndham, we are in favour due to its research and educational facilities, providing opportunities for students.”
Wyndham City Council adopted the final report of the feasibility study into the science centre at its recent meeting and supported the establishment of a steering committee to advance the project.
The development cost is estimated at $4.06 million for a new building and furnishings, or $2.82 million for a refurbished building and furnishings.
