Neighbourhood funding

THE State Government has promised funding to build a neighbourhood house in Tarneit. The area is one of the state’s nine most needy areas to benefit from $12.4 million set aside to build new community hubs over four years. The funds will also improve existing neighbourhood house infrastructure and extend opening hours. “Neighbourhood houses give people a chance to develop new skills, meet new people and pursue recreational opportunities,” Local Government Minister Candy Broad said last week.
