RESIDENTS will find it easier to be a tourist in their own backyard once they drop by the new visitor information centre at Werribee Plaza.
The volunteer-staffed information desk can provide brochures and information on all local and regional attractions.
The new “Wyndham. Live it – Love it!” booth will provide a similar service as the visitor information desk at the Cultural Centre in Watton St, Werribee.
Wyndham mayor Shane Bourke said Werribee Plaza was chosen as a second site because it was a popular shopping centre attracting local shoppers and outside visitors.
The new visitor service is located next to Kmart, in front of the main stage.
Initially, it will operate on Thursdays and Fridays between 9am and 5pm, but organisers are keen to recruit more volunteers to allow for extended hours.
