A NEW left-turn lane has been installed at the intersection of Heaths and Derrimut roads.
Motorists will now be able to turn left on Heaths Rd from Derrimut Rd without waiting for traffic light signals when the left-turn lane is open to traffic, easing congestion and cutting waiting times.
Wyndham City Council mayor Shane Bourke said traffic congestion has been increasing at the intersection – Wyndham’s busiest. More than 50,000 vehicles travel through he intersection daily, he said. The construction cost of $280,500 was paid for by council after VicRoads declined to address the issue.
