WYNDHAM City Council last week presented community partnership program grants to 14 projects.
Here is a list of the successful applicants: the Glen Orden Sports Club ($19,445) for equipment; the 1st Hoppers Crossing Scout Group ($12,230) for asbestos removal and recladding at the scout hall; the Werribee Softball Association ($11,000) for fencing at the President’s Park diamond.
The Heathdale Neighbourhood Association ($9023) to run adult learning programs, and $1605 for a women’s leadership camp; the Grange Community Centre ($2786) towards folding chairs and a trolley; the Rotary Club of Wyndham ($1960) for projects relating to Werribee River restoration.
The Honour Ave Playgroup ($1671) towards buying a shade sail; the Migrant Resource Centre Westgate Region ($1280) for Refugee Week celebrations; the Wyndham Branch of Victorian Association of Honorary Justices ($1000) for materials to provide a document witnessing service.
The Riff Raff Theatre Productions ($1000) for a Christmas show; the Westgate Support Group ($867) for various events; the Rotary Club of Wyndham ($640) for a Christmas party at the Heathglen Retirement Village; and the Wyndham Lakes Residents Association ($415) for cleanup activities.
The awards were first presented in 1997, and offered to Wyndham’s incorporated, nonprofit organisations.
Up to $40,000 is available per project, and applications for the next round close on 9 November.
