College crisis

STUDENTS at Werribee Secondary College are struggling to come to terms with a revolting DVD that has sent shock-waves across the nation.
Student leaders held crisis meetings with College principal Steve Butyn last week to begin unravelling their reactions amid a barrage of negative publicity that has engulfed the 1230-student school.
The 45-minute DVD shows a gang of about a dozen young men sexually assaulting and humiliating a 17-year-old girl, throwing eggs at local taxi drivers, harassing a homeless man, hoon-driving, and carousing at teenage parties.
Two were identified as students from Werribee College and have left the school.
Several others, originally associated with the school, dropped out up to four years ago, Mr Butyn said.
Department of Education counsellors were made available for Werribee College students, and the school is running forums about the incident for each year level.
