SUNSHINE toppled A grade ladder leaders Sonics 6-3 in the latest round of the Werribee table tennis.
Wol Borkut and Nick Defina starred for Sunshine in the top-of-the–table clash, claiming three matches each to send Sunshine to the lead.
Bushrangers jumped into second place, fighting off a brave Vikings outfit to emerge 5-4 winners. Marinko Marcin nailed three for Vikings, but the steadier play from Bushrangers allowed them to triumph, despite losing the last two rubbers of the match.
Wyndham Vale edged into the four with a timely 6-3 win over Panthers. Alan Thomson was his reliable self, sweeping through his singles matches to set up the win.
Gerald Gallina anchored Titans to a solid 6-3 win over Toucans, taking his three singles matches as Titans easily marched through the match.
Sunshine jumps to first after their solid win, followed by Bushrangers, Sonics and Wyndham Vale. Toucans, Vikings, Team Wong, Panthers and Titans complete the ladder.
In B grade section one, the ladder compressed as three of the top four sides lost. Second placed Crocops toppled leaders Fireballs 6-3, with Zelko Silic on fire capturing his three singles matches with ease.
Warriors revitalised their season with a 6-3 win over Trojans, with Dejan Turda in sparkling touch claiming three wins.
Tornadoes edged Boomers out of fourth place, taking their match 5-4. Maria Balint swept through her three singles matches with ease to anchor the result.
