NOT many people can say they have had dinner with the Prime Minister in the Lodge, but that is exactly what is up for grabs at this year’s Mayoral Charity Dinner Dance.
Wyndham Mayor, John Menegazzo, who is reinstating the ball, said on the night an auction would be held to benefit a local charity and one of the items people could bid for was dinner with the PM. “I invited the Prime Minister to attend but unfortunately she politely declined,” Cr Menegazzo said. “She did however offer a dinner for two at the Lodge with her and Tim Mathieson and I’m suspecting that will raise quite a substantial bit of money.
“I think people will be prepared to pay a bit above the odds to get that one.”
Air fares and accommodations are not included in the package however, and to claim the prize you will have to be at the ball on the night.
The Mayoral Charity Dinner Dance will be held on Saturday 23 July at the Italian Sports Club of Werribee and all proceeds will go to Werribee Support and Housing. For more information call 9741 1225.
