PEOPLE Hoppers Crossing, Keilor and Melton are seeing clearly now that Eye Clarity has been named a true business hero.
The privately owned company was recently named one of the Victoria’s small business heroes by the State Government.
Co-owner Jim Papas, who grew up in Footscray, said he was thrilled that the business was chosen among hundreds of other organisations to receive the prestigious award.
“We have kept on trying to reinvent ourselves,” Mr Papas said.
Testimony to the company’s hard work ethic is its recent innovation ‘My Eyes’, which is a groundbreaking product that assists customers to find the appropriate eye wear.
“It’s interactive and technologically advanced.
“It’s good to get the recognition and for our staff – it shows that they are working in a leading company.
“We have surveyed customers and the feedback we have received is that they feel they are being helped and understood.”
The optometrist, who established the business in 1986, said the group aimed to stay a step ahead of the competition and unlike multinational companies could offer it’s clientele a one-on-one service.
“Small companies are vulnerable to being eroded.
“Bigger companies offer almost a self-serve model, but one of our biggest strengths is that we work hard for our customers.”
