Centrals trounced

By Liam Twomey
THE Werribee Centrals premiership campaign got off to a bad start in the Geelong and District Football League after they suffered a 75-point loss at the hands of East Geelong.
The clash pitted second against third from the regular season but the difference between the sides surprised almost everyone at the ground.
The Centrals went into the match confident of causing the upset but East Geelong proved the far superior side, winning 15.19 (109) to 5.4 (34).
Shaun Simmons was the shining light for Werribee in his best-on-ground performance.
Werribee now has to regroup quickly for the clash this weekend or face the prospect of exiting the finals in straight sets.
