Drugs lab man in a stew

By Bridie Byrne
A TRUCKLOAD of cannabis plants was seized from a drug lab set up in a Werribee house.
Police swooped on a Princes Highway address at 7.25pm last week.
Sergeant Pat Spezza said the plants were found growing in a sophisticated hydroponic lab across three rooms.
Police were required to use a truck to remove the large stash.
It led to a second warrant being issued at a Duosa Rd home in Altona North.
Police shut down the hydroponic lab, which was discovered in a backyard shed.
A 48-year-old man from Altona North was charged with trafficking and cultivating cannabis. He was bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 12 May. Werribee police uncovered hundreds of cannabis plants due to tip-offs through Crime Stoppers last year.
Anyone with information can contact Sergeant Mick Knight on 9742 9444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
