Shelter

NEARLY 120 panels on Wyndham bus shelters have been smashed and vandalised over the past 12 months.
Adshel, a company contracted by the Department of Transport and councils to repair bus stops, has recorded 118 damaged panels at bus shelters across the municipality.
An Adshel spokeswoman said smashed glass was the primary form of damage inflicted on Wyndham bus shelters.
“The three suburbs who have required the most repairs over the last 12 months are Werribee (41 panels), Hoppers Crossing (36) and Wyndham Vale (21),” the spokeswoman said.
“On average, the cost of cleaning the area and replacing the glass is $1500 per shelter.”
The Department of Transport said the approximate cost of fixing bus shelters within Wyndham since 2007 due to vandalism was “in the vicinity of $25,000.”
Adshel’s commercial director of Victoria Stuart Moffatt urged anyone who saw people damaging bus shelters to contact police or the Adshel hotline on 1800 501 402.
