BROTHERS Jordan and James Cooper are both starting to realise their golfing dream.
The Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club members have been selected in the Victorian Colts golf squad, and are among 10 golfers from whom five will be chosen to compete against NSW, Queensland and New Zealand. The Colts team aims to fill the gap between junior state squads and the senior state squad, and is for golfers aged 18-22.
Jordan, 21, and James, 19, have both been Sanctuary Lakes Golf Club members for four years and have worked in the pro shop.
Proud dad John, a keen golfer, notified Jordan – who was in Europe checking out golf courses – that he and James had both been picked for the state team, with an email to his Facebook page.
Jordan and James will soon enter a training program for two days a week to develop their game with golf coaches Matty Joyce and Richard Cooney and with Luke Mackey supervising their golf-oriented gym program at Rosanna Golf Club.
Jordan said selection into the team was a major stepping stone towards a professional golfing career.
