A FAMILY was in their Williams Landing home when an intruder broke into their property recently.
A male used a screwdriver to force open a rear garage door of the Moorhen Blvd residence around 3pm on 1 February, after his knock on the front door was not answered.
When he saw the family, the offender ran away and drove off in a black sports car.
He was described as European, in his mid-to-late 30s, approximately 180cm tall, very thin, clean shaven, with light coloured eyes and wearing a black cap, black hooded jumper and three-quarter length jeans.
Police have requested the assistance of anyone who could have seen the vehicle or the offender to contact Detective Senior Constable Frank Fierra of Wyndham CIU on 9742 9410 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Meanwhile, cold-hearted offenders stole two air-conditioning units from a Tarneit childcare centre this month.
The Derrimut Rd centre was burgled overnight between 2-3 February.
Police said the offenders jumped the fence, broke a lock and removed “two air conditioning units from the outside wall of the centre, including the brackets from the wall”.
Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
