POLICE are on the hunt for a good Samaritan who they believe helped a young woman after she was sexually assaulted in Werribee on 25 April.
It is alleged that the 23-year-old woman attended a licensed premises with friends but lost contact with them though the evening. After leaving the venue around 4am, she returned around half an hour later.
She then allegedly accepted a lift from a man in a car on Watton St after he approached her.
The man drove her to an unknown location where it is alleged he sexually assaulted her.
She was able to escape and get a lift from another driver who dropped her off close to her home.
Police would like the man who drove the woman home or anyone else with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
