HUNDREDS of the roughest and toughest bikies from across Victoria will descend upon Werribee this month, but in an unusual twist they will all be wearing pink.
The annual revving of engines is all for a good cause as it will raise much-needed funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
Marcel Gromperts from the Point Cook Motorcycle Club, which organises the Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride, said the riders are expected to brighten up the streets of Melbourne, giving hope to people who are affected by breast cancer.
“The Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride is a wonderful event that not only makes a strong visual impact, but also has a significant effect on those living with breast cancer and their families,” Mr Gromperts said.
“By supporting the Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride, you are helping the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) ensure that women diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families, receive the very best information, treatment, care and support possible, no matter who they are or where they live.”
The ride is also open to scooter enthusiasts, and will be held on Sunday 23 October from 10am.
The main departure points are the docklands in Melbourne, Mercer Street in Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo, with the bikies eventually making their way to the Mambourin Gardens in Werribee.
