Six in a row for Jets

By Liam Twomey
THE Western Jets continued to stake their claim as a contender for this year’s TAC Cup premiership, storming to their sixth win in a row on Saturday.
The Jets hit the road to take on the Geelong Falcons in a blockbuster encounter that pitched fourth against fifth.
They proved to be the far superior side, keeping the Falcons at bay all day before blowing the game open with a blistering six-goal final quarter.
Jaxon Cooke and Lachlan Fairley were a never-ending headache for the Geelong defenders and finished the match with five and four goals respectively.
Will Hoskin-Elliott was again a stand-out performer and named best on ground in the 17.19 (121) win. To 10.3 (63) win.
He was joined in the best by fellow Vic Metro squad members Elliot Kavanagh and Adam Kennedy.
The win sees the Jets rise to fourth on the TAC Cup ladder where they are likely to remain regardless of this week’s match against the Sandringham Dragons.
The clash will still be important with the Dragons occupying second place on the ladder and a finals encounter between the clubs a possibility.
