THE Werribee Sports and Fitness Centre is one step closer to its much anticipated redevelopment with the shortlist for design and consultancy services endorsed at last week’s council meeting.
The panel is made up of Suters Architects, William Ross Architects, Jackson Architecture, Cox Richardson and Christou Design Group.
The panel is a precursor to the tendering of the Werribee Sports and Fitness Centre Design and Consultancy Services contract.
Wyndham mayor John Menegazzo said the appointment of the shortlisted panel was a very important stage in the redevelopment of the centre.
“Following the outcomes of the indoor court sports needs analysis, Wyndham City is now pushing ahead with the preparation for the design works for the redevelopment of the Werribee Sports and Fitness Centre,” Cr Menegazzo said.
“The shortlisted consultants have been invited to submit a tender to design the redeveloped centre.”
The redevelopment of the centre is expected to take 10 years and cost around $45 million.
