Wife’s plea for crash answers

THE wife of a man killed in a Laverton North car crash earlier this month has told Star of how the incident has devastated her family.
Lynette Flowers’ husband David was killed on Thursday 10 November when he was driving along Old Geelong Rd at around 7.20am.
It is believed that the driver of a grey Hyundai Tuscan drove over a roundabout, colliding with David’s car and killing him at the scene.
Speaking just days after the accident, Ms Flowers said the loss of David had affected everyone who knew him.
“It’s affected not just our family but the people David played golf with, the people he worked with, everyone,” Ms Flowers said.
The couple were married for over 40 years and Ms Flowers reiterated police’s request that anyone who may have seen the Hyundai Tuscan driving erratically to call Crime Stoppers.
“It’s very hard to get information on what exactly happened,” she said.
“It’s the waiting that’s the hardest. If you could go and do something to take your mind off it, that would make it easier, but you can’t.”
David’s death brings the road toll in Wyndham for this year up to 11, which Wyndham Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Graeme Crouch said was a disappointingly high number.
“That is very much higher than normal,” Acting Sgt Crouch said.
“We’re urging any witnesses who might have seen something to call Crime Stoppers.”
Anyone who may have information on the incident should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
