POLICE are warning residents to take extra care as numerous people have claimed to be taken advantage of by a gardening scam.
“Multiple victims have presented to Werribee Police making reports of deceptions by persons purporting to offer gardening services,” a police spokesperson said.
“Victims have contacted gardening services to provide a quote for gardening and landscaping work at residential premises. After receiving the quote, large cash deposits have been requested. After receiving the deposit, the gardener has subsequently failed to begin any work and ceased contact with the victims.”
