THOUSANDS of people are expected to flock to Werribee to catch enjoy the tunes of some of Australia’s best known musicians.
The annual Legends on the Lawn concert will be held at Werribee Park on Sunday 18 March and Joe Camilleri from the Black Sorrows told Star he was excited to perform.
Camilleri will take to the stage along with such favourites as James Reyne, Jon Stevens and Daryl Braithwaite.
But Camilleri joked that audiences should be most excited about his set.
“The others are all just a bunch of hacks,” Mr Camilleri said.
As Camilleri approaches is 64th birthday, he said he was still as keen as every to give the audience something to remember.
“I want people to walk away feeling that they’ve seen something that’s worth the ticket price,” he said.
“It’s not really about me though, it’s about the day and about performing at a great venue.”
It is the second time that Camilleri has played at Legends on the Lawn and he said he was “honoured” to be asked to return.
“Legend status doesn’t buy you a bottle of milk but it’s still an honour to be asked,” he said.
“It was a great time in Australian music and I’m very proud that I was a part of it.”
Legends on the Lawn will be held at Werribee Park on Sunday 18 March and gates will open at 10.30am.
