A GROUP of future stars will bring their own light to the Royal Children’s Hospital next month.
Singers and dancers from JDC Performing Arts Studios in Caroline Springs and Werribee will perform for hospitalised children in the Starlight Express Room.
Studio director Jason Di Cicco said he had performed at the hospital as a young dancer.
“It was one to remember,” Jason said.
“I thought I’d love my kids to go out there as well. This is a different exposure for them, a different experience.
“We hope that our performance can also be a useful distraction for the children and help them to forget the stress of the hospital environment.”
The performance will include kids from the age of four singing and dancing their way through Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and musical numbers from Annie and Hairspray.
The school has everything from Zumba to musical theatre, hip-hop, ballet, tap, singing, acting and drama lessons and has around 70 students.
Ten-year-old Elise said the performance would be “high energy” and said she was “very excited’ to perform for the sick kids.
Her 16-year-old fellow dancer Sarah, who had been dancing for 12 years, said performing at the hospital would be an “amazing opportunity”.
“I didn’t expect it, it’ll be really good to support the cause (of Starlight Foundation),” Sarah said.
