Destination Wyndham

AS THE weather in Wyndham starts to warm up, the council is hoping to enlighten more visitors and residents to experience the best of the municipality.
Wyndham Council has developed three new brochures highlighting Wyndham’s attractions, dining and accommodation.
Economic Development Manager Daryl Wilson said when it came to tourism, Wyndham residents were the municipality’s biggest asset.
“It is estimated that 60 per cent of our domestic visitors and 65 per cent of international visitors to Wyndham are family and friends, making our residents our greatest tourism ambassadors,” Mr Wilson said.
“These brochures are an ideal thing to have on hand when entertaining visiting guests and relatives or just looking for a place to eat.
“They contain details on some of our best known attractions, hotels and restaurants, like the Werribee Park Mansion and Open Range Zoo, as well as highlighting some hidden gems like the Point Cook Homestead and Café and Wyndham Cache. These brochures showcase some of our finest venues and demonstrate you don’t have to travel far for a great place to eat, sleep or visit.”
The launch of the brochures is part of a larger council campaign to encourage locals and visitors to eat, stay and play in Wyndham. Last month, the council launched the Night Out on the Town package, which includes dinner, a show at the Cultural Centre and a night at the Quest Apartments in Werribee.
