HEALTH and wellbeing go hand in hand and that’s why one business owner has created an alliance to help people easily access these services in the West.
Hoppers Crossing resident Keely Maree has called on a number of local businesses in the health industry to create a network that makes it easy for people in Wyndham to access them.
As part of her plan Ms Maree has organised the inaugural Wellness Day that will involve a number of different business from the health and fitness industry coming together under the one roof.
“(It’s about) health and fitness and wellness made easy for people who want to start but don’t know where,” Ms Maree said.
So far eight businesses have jumped on the wellness day wagon and will be there to offer their expert advice and talk one on one with people.
There will be representatives from martial arts and defence, a yoga instructor, beauty therapists and personal trainers.
Not to mention one-off specials from the businesses, raffles and enticing give-aways including massages.
Ms Maree, who has been a practising beauty therapist for more than three years and holds qualifications in a number of wellbeing areas, knows how competitive the industry can be.
“Being in the wellness industry it feels like it’s almost a competition. I thought why not incorporate everybody into one industry, you’re not competing with someone specifically but your almost complementing each other,” Ms Maree said.
She stressed the event is not an expo but a chance for people to get their questions answered, get the businesses to work as a mutually beneficial network and thereby helping people in the community.
“(The community) are going to get the best service the best quality they can get and its benefiting the business,” Ms Maree said.
“It’s just that advice that people need as well just to steer them in the right direction and give them the confidence they need.”
The wellness day will be held at My Gym factory 2 Graham Court Hoppers Crossing on 25 November from 2pm.
