A POINT Cook teenager with a love for amazing and shocking people is making a name for himself as a crowd pleaser.
Jake Wilkinson launched his first business last month as a magician for hire and he has already become known for his stunning tricks.
What makes him even more amazing than his showmanship and sleight-of-hand tricks is the fact that he is only 15-years-old.
Jake first decided to give magic a try after watching a TV show that sparked his interest.
Since then he has gone on to master more than 100 tricks and even invent some of his own.
“As soon as you learn a really good trick and you amaze someone with it, that’s when you get hooked,” Jake said.
“When I first started it could take me up to five weeks to master a trick but now I can do it in a couple of days.”
The most common question Jake gets asked is how he has performed some of his tricks and he said he has come close to revealing his secrets in the past.
“I can’t do a trick without someone asking me how I did it,” he said.
“Sometimes when people tell you how they think it’s done and they’re actually right I’ve almost told them that they got it but then I have to pretend that they’re completely wrong.
“My parents have threatened me with no dinner sometimes if I don’t tell them how I did a certain trick.”
Next month Jake will audition for Australia’s Got Talent and he hopes to one day become a full time magician and perform in Vegas.
