Gym to remain open

A new state-of-the art temporary gym will be available at Wyndham Leisure and Events Centre from mid-March as part of the next stage of the facility’s redevelopment.
The facilities have being specially fitted out to provide a high quality gym space for all members with dedicated cardio and stretch areas, rubber flooring in the weights area, a purpose built reception desk and air conditioning and wall mounted fans throughout.
Most of the cardio and weight equipment currently in use at the centre will continue to be available for use, with the temporary gym to remain open for the duration of the redevelopment.
The contract for main construction works as part of the redevelopment is expected to be awarded at the next council meeting in March.
Mayor Heather Marcus said although the Aquatics facility is expected to close on Sunday 14th April, the council has committed to keeping the Werribee Outdoor Olympic Pool open during the course of the Centre’s redevelopment works.
