POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a five car collision on the Princes Highway in Laverton North earlier this month.
The collision happened on the freeway between Fitzgerald Rd and the Kororoit Creek Rd overpass at about 6am.
“Police have been told that a vehicle changed lanes and collided with a white Holden Commodore causing it to spin out of control before being struck by another vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.
“This collision then resulted in two other vehicles, one a prime mover and trailer, also being involved in the collision.”
Police are trying to identify the driver and type of vehicle which changed lanes and set off the sequence of events which resulted in major traffic congestion and extensive damage to three of the vehicles involved.
The vehicle briefly stopped at the scene before driving off.
