Stabbing death

HOMICIDE squad detectives from Victoria Police are investigating the stabbing death of a Werribee man over the weekend.
The 21-year-old man was discovered by a council worker at about 5am on Sunday 17 March on Johnston St in Fitzroy suffering from several stab wounds.
The man collapsed soon after he was discovered and died before an ambulance arrived.
It is believed the man may have been attacked near the intersection of Fitzroy and Johnston streets.
Investigators are asking witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area around 5am to come forward with any information.
Detectives spent several hours at the scene of the man’s death and a Victoria Police spokesperson said they were examining CCTV footage from nearby nightclubs and bars.
