Burglars caught in act

AN alleged burglar led police to a drug house in Point Cook earlier this month.
Just after midnight on Friday 8 March Werribee police members were called to Elgante Rd following reports of a man loitering in the area.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said a 32-year-old Deer Park man was arrested at the property before police noticed a large hydroponic set up at the house.
There were no cannabis plants inside the premises.
Police then arrested a 37-year-old Brookfield man, who was in a nearby vehicle.
Both men were taken back to Werribee police station and the Deer Park man has been charged with burglary, loiter and unlawfully being at premises. He was bailed to appear at Werribee Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
“The Brookfield man has been charged with weapons offences and possessing items of impersonate police,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“He has been released pending summons.”
A Victoria Police spokesperson was unable to release any more details relating to the Brookfield man’s alleged impersonation of police.
On Sunday 10 March between 10pm and 11pm, a house in Bemm Court in Werribee was broken into and televisions, a games console, jewellery and laptops stolen.
A 2006 black Toyota Corolla sedan was also stolen.
Anyone with information on either of these incidents should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
