Relay for life

Wyndham City council will be putting their best foot forward to support cancer research by taking part in this month’s Relay for Life.
The Relay for Life has been bringing communities together at hundreds of locations across Australia.
The Cancer Council initiative involves teams taking part in an overnight run or walk to raise crucial funds to help the fight against Australia’s biggest killer.
Harrison Ward Councillor Glenn Goodfellow, who is a cancer survivor, said the event was one of the municipality’s greatest fundraisers.
“Each year, the Relay for Life raises millions of dollars for research into treating, preventing and finding a cure for cancer,” Cr Goodfellow said.
“I would encourage Wyndham residents, community groups and businesses to join in the fight against cancer by either participating in the Relay or committing funds to one of the teams. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards funding cancer research.”
The Wyndham event will be held at the Victoria University Athletics Track, Hoppers Lane, Werribee on Saturday, 20 April and Sunday 21 April.
