THE Werribee Football Club and the Tigers Clubhouse has continued its support of community football. The club has made available $50,000 in funds through the Tigers Community Rewards and an individual sponsorship package for every Aussie Rules club in the City of Wyndham.
The nine clubs are spread across the Western Region Football League, Victorian Amateur Football League and Geelong and District Football League.
Each will receive $1000, a North Melbourne football jumper signed by Brad Scott and Andrew Swallow, Werribee players or coaches to run clinics for junior teams, one table at a Werribee president’s lunch and $500 for after-match food and beverage at Tigers Clubhouse.
Werribee CEO Mark Penaluna knows the battle for local clubs.
“Part of our community commitment is to help local clubs as much as we can, and this is a very good package that helps cash flow, with the auction or raffle of the jumper, and the opportunity to entertain some sponsors or even thank some hard workers around the club,” he said.
Already this year, the Werribee Football Club has helped both Glen Orden and Sanctuary Lakes with training gear during their pre-season.
The club is running a free night for all local coaches to attend to hear Werribee senior coach Scott West and our fitness people talk about football and answer any questions.
Werribee is also sponsoring the Western Region Football League interleague programs.
Eligible local players are encouraged to be part of the Morris Barlow Squad next pre-season to try out for the Werribee list.
