WERRIBEE continued its winning run in the Victoria Football League on Saturday, smashing competition strugglers Bendigo Gold by 92 points.
After taking a slender 13-point lead into the half-time break, Werribee emerged from the rooms in hot form and took control of the match.
The Tigers booted an impressive 14 second-half goals and restricted Bendigo to just one major as the margin approached triple figures.
The 19.18 (132) to 5.10 (40) victory is the fourth win in a row for Werribee, with last year’s preliminary finalists rebounding after a slow start to the year.
In that time, the Tigers also secured a Foxtel Cup victory and look to be one of the form sides in both competitions.
The win was set by a dangerous Werribee forward line, with Ben McKinley and Ben Warren kicking four goals each.
They were well supported by Mason Wood, Ben Speight, Addam Maric and Jarred Moore who combined for eight goals.
Around the ground, Ben Ross was a standout for the Tigers while North Melbourne listed ruckman Daniel Currie was also impressive.
For Bendigo, Patrick Flynn was named best on ground.
The win is Werribee’s sixth from 10 games this season, and sees the club lock its place among the competition’s top eight.
This week the Tigers will take on top-four contenders the Box Hill Hawks.
